Caroline Hitte pastors the Lakeside Church faithfully alongside her husband Jason. She is incredibly gifted in her own right, with a deep love for God and people. Her leadership in the church is felt by all who call Lakeside home. In addition to being a leader in the church, Caroline’s heart is for helping people in their marriage. She is truly skilled in the area of counseling and has helped numerous women in marriages heal, and find restoration in Christ.
The Lakeside Church exists to Make Disciples: New Ones, Better Ones. Our focus is to share the love of Jesus, present the hope and freedom of God’s word, and guide people to grow in faith as Disciples of Jesus. It’s not just a catchy slogan for us, it’s our mission. (Matthew 28:19-20)
Our values at Lakeside Church hold us accountable to the mission of the church. Each of these values define the culture that makes up our Lakeside Church family.
We love God because of who He is and what He has done for us through His Son Jesus. Everything we do at this church and in life flows from our deep love for God.
We love all people from all backgrounds, regardless of their circumstances. Believing that people need love the most when they deserve it the least and therefore, the Lakeside Church strives to be a safe place for everyone. As we love others properly, we fulfill the complete Law of God
We strive to pursue excellence in everything that we do in an effort to reflect the glory of our most excellent God.
We serve God with joy from the freedom of the work He has completed within our hearts.
We believe the Scriptures, both Old and New Testaments, are infallible and without error. We believe the Scriptures were inspired by the Holy Spirit of God through people and therefore communicate the very thought and authority of God while reflecting the backgrounds, styles, and vocabularies of the human authors. They are the unique and final authority on all matters of Christian faith and practice.
We believe in one God, creator of all things, infinitely perfect and eternally existing in three persons, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit (Trinity).
We believe that Jesus Christ is fully God and fully man, having been conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. Jesus lived a perfect and sinless life and then died on a cross as a sacrifice for our sins according to the Scriptures. We believe He was raised from the dead, ascended into heaven, and now fulfills the role of mediator between God and people.
The Holy Spirit
We believe that the Holy Spirit is the third person of the Trinity. He draws people to God through the saving work of Christ and convict’s mankind of sin. He regenerates their heart and then permanently dwells within them when they place their trust in Jesus. His ongoing work is to guide, instruct, and empower the Christian for godly living and service.
We believe that people were created in the image of God for a loving relationship with Him. However, people have rebelled against God, actively or passively choosing to go their own independent way. As a result, we’re separated from God and suffer the corruption of our sinful nature. The effects of this fall from our intended relationship with God can be reversed through faith in Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of our sins.
We believe that Jesus Christ died as the substitution for our sin and paid the death penalty that we owed. No amount of good works or human effort can restore us from our state of eternal separation from God. It is only by God’s grace that we are rescued from this state of alienation, and this grace is appropriated by a change of heart toward God’s leadership in our lives and by faith in Jesus to forgive our sins.
We believe that there is only one true Church universal composed of all people who have accepted Jesus Christ for forgiveness and made Him leader of their lives. The diversity of all believers working together, using their gifts to build up one another, form the parts of the body of Christ: the Church. The Scriptures command believers to gather together to devote themselves to worship, prayer, the teaching of God’s Word and using our gifts to build up and love one another. Wherever God’s people meet in obedience to this command, there is the local expression of the Church. We believe that Jesus Christ is the Lord and governing Head of the Church and that every local church has the right under Christ to decide and govern its own affairs, in obedience to God’s Word.
We believe that transformation, growth and a changed life are evidence of a person’s connection to God. As we continue to pursue a real relationship with God He will continue to change us to become more like Christ. But it requires our willingness and intentionality. At the Lakeside Church, we accomplish this by teaching people to “Love God, Love People, Pursue Excellence, and Serve with Joy.”
