DAY 3 | Seek Through Fasting | Pastor Carlon

In Matthew 4, Jesus has been fasting for forty days and nights when the enemy comes to tempt Him. Jesus is hungry, but He is not led by His flesh. Instead of giving in to appetite, He responds with Scripture and makes His priority clear: obedience to God.
Jesus shows us that fasting isn’t about ignoring hunger; it’s about focusing on what truly sustains us.
When we fast, we intentionally set aside comfort, cravings, and distractions to pursue God more fully. God knows our greatest danger isn’t being hungry, it’s letting our appetite dictate our obedience. Every one of us is constantly at war with the flesh. Fasting is saying no to what feeds the flesh so we can say yes to what feeds the Spirit.
Fasting reminds us, that our desires don’t command us the Spirit of God does. So, as we fast, don’t let our prayer be, “God, change my circumstances,” but, “God, change me.”
