DAY 3 | Seek Unity & Alignment | Pastor Jase Hitte

Unity isn’t something that just happens. It’s something we protect, something we pursue, and honestly, something we fight for together. The bible says in Ephesians 4:3, “Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace.” Paul tells us to “make every effort” to keep the unity of the Spirit. That one phrase reminds me that unity comes from God, but preserving it is something He invites us into.
When I look back on seasons where unity felt strong in my relationships or in our church, it wasn’t because everything was perfect. It was because people, myself included, chose alignment over assumptions. Around here, we call that having “courageous conversations.” That means talking about the things most people let sit in silence. We chose conversations instead of quiet frustration. We chose peace instead of pride. Every time I took that step, I could feel the Holy Spirit strengthening something sacred.
When a church is aligned, the mission becomes clear. Relationships grow healthier. God’s presence is felt in a real way. Unity creates an environment where faith can grow, generosity rises, and people feel safe to be honest with one another. The enemy understands the power of unity, which is why he works hard to divide, distract, and isolate. But when we pursue alignment intentionally by checking our hearts, setting clear expectations, and choosing grace, we close the doors that disunity tries to slip through.
“Make every effort” looks like humility. It looks like listening before speaking. Forgiving quickly. Honoring consistently. Valuing the relationship more than being right. Allowing the Holy Spirit to soften the places where frustration or pride has settled in.
Today, ask God where He is inviting you to help build or protect unity. Who do you need to encourage? What conversation is overdue? What attitude needs to shift?
Unity doesn’t survive on accident. It grows through obedience. And when we pursue unity and alignment, we reflect the heart of Christ in a powerful way.
