21 Days of Devos - Day 4

DAY 4 | Seek His Will | Pastor Kraig Ramsey

In 2016, my wife and I felt like God was calling us out of a season of student ministry and into a season of church planting out of state and away from everything we knew. For a year, I struggled with whether or not it was really what we were supposed to do.

I’ll never forget, I was stopped at a red light and tears poured down my face! “God! If you’ll just tell me what you want us to do, we’ll do it!” In that moment, I heard the Holy Spirit speak to my heart, “Anything that remains on the vine outside of its season will rot.” It was then I knew that we had to take this giant leap of faith.

So often we ask God for direction, but then when He gives it, we hesitate. We strategize. We reroute. We rely on our limited perspective, and then we wonder why we feel lost.

Proverbs 3:5 to 6 calls us to a different posture. Trust. Surrender. Dependence. God invites us to “seek His will in all you do.” Not just in spiritual moments, not only in emergencies, but in all things.

When we seek Him first, He promises to direct our path. The God who sees the end from the beginning is willing to guide us step by step. Scripture reinforces this again in Psalm 32:8 NLT: “The Lord says, ‘I will guide you along the best pathway for your life. I will advise you and watch over you.’”

Seeking His will is not about perfection. It is about posture. The posture of a heart that says, “God, You lead. I will follow.”

Today, make a conscious shift from any need for tangible assurances to God dependence

Take one decision you are currently wrestling with and surrender it to Him in prayer. Ask Him, “Lord, what do You want me to do?” Then pause long enough to listen. And brave enough to step out into the unknown.

Open His Word. Journal what you sense Him speaking. Talk with a mature believer who can help you discern His direction.

And as you take your next step, do it with trust. God is not hiding His will from you. He is shaping your heart to hear it, follow it, and walk in peace as He leads you.
