21 Days of Devos - Day 12

DAY 12 | Personal Vision for 2026 | Maddie Park

A new year. A new year can bring an opportunity for new dreams and fresh vision. God is always wanting to do a new thing in our lives and in our hearts. It can be easy to feel discouraged or defeated in moments of uncertainty or the unknown. But even when we are confused or don’t see it, God is up to something. God is moving. God challenges us to declare vision for our lives.

Habakkuk 2:2–3 (ESV) says, “And the Lord answered me: ‘Write the vision; make it plain on tablets, so he may run who reads it. For still the vision awaits its appointed time; it hastens to the end—it will not lie. If it seems slow, wait for it; it will surely come; it will not delay.’”

Habakkuk was in a season of discouragement and confusion. He was crying out to God to give him answers or direction, and God responds with these instructions.

God tells him to write down the vision. Today, we challenge you to think about the vision for your life. What are the dreams and desires the Lord has given you? Now write it down. Declare it. By writing it down, we can transform the vision from an idea into a direction.

God also tells him to make it plain. Sometimes we feel like we need these big grandiose plans and dreams. And while there is space for those, there is also value in the simple, clear, and concise. What is one thing you can do this year? Plain vision produces powerful action.

God has an appointed time. Now that you have a vision and direction and have written it down – remain faithful. The timing has already been determined by the all-knowing, all-powerful God. Even if the waiting is hard, have faith and confidence that at the perfect time, God will bring it to pass.

Galatians 6:9 says, “And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up.”

This year, let us push forward in doing good. Keep serving, keep loving people, keep chasing after Jesus, and there will be a season where you will be dancing in the victories that God has given you. There will be a season where the visions you have declared today will come forth.
